Mad World- Gary Jules

Mad World的原唱是Tears for Fears，不過這首歌二度造成轟動的是Gary Jules翻唱版本，為電影Donnie Darko片尾曲。與原唱明顯不同的地方是：Gary Jules的版本簡單得多了。Tears for Fears使用大量的合成器與敲擊，有典型80年的快節奏；Gary Jules與Michael Andrews合作的版本則捨去這些元素，使用鋼琴和弦與大提琴，放慢速度地唱，釋放出一直都是很孤獨的訊號。

目前唯一一次在電台聽到這首歌是在9月4號晚上，坐在回London市區的easyBus上。對我自己而言，這首歌相當適用在我們需要發洩太多情緒的當下；在我們自認為心情跌落到谷底的時候，聽這首Mad World，才會了解到：它才是真正把我們拉進深淵的原兇，使週遭的一切更加孤寂。最棒的是：這首歌無論何時聽到，無論在何種狀態下面對，都能夠在短短三分多鐘內使我們對於一切重新感到困惑徬徨。
